This trip offers all the benefits of a rural excursion, with the views and the feeling of space with the convenience of a little chic urban culture for extra entertainment.
We will script you a scenic route to take you to the Roman walled city of Chester via a selection of excellent driving roads and the odd mountain pass.
When you arrive at the Grosvenor Hotel, your super-car will be parked by the hotel valet. This AA 5 Red Star hotel really is something else. Its black and white façade is grade two listed, there is a choice of 14 different suites, and it has a Full Beauty & Spa Treatment suite and a choice of two award winning restaurants on site. The Grosvenor is the perfect choice of venue to explore the walled city.
We think the greatest single attraction to Eau Rouge customers will be one of the 12 annual race days at “The Roodee”. Flat racing has been going on here for 450 years, and for a days entertainment it really is hard to beat watching the racing from the enclosure or at the City Walls. It is walking distance from the hotel and the atmosphere is just amazing: especially on Ladies Day!
We recommend dinner in “The Arkle” restaurant in the Grosvenor. This establishment retained its Michelin Star for the 17th consecutive year in 2007. After dinner why not head out and explore the town by night. There is a great variety of bars & lounges with contemporary music, Blues, Latin or Jazz all on the door step. The hotel operates a limousine taxi service should you end up too far away…The following day after breakfast you are free to explore the town. When you are ready to leave your car will be ready for you in front of the hotel for the return journey to Shrewsbury.
