Formerly the track car of "Burnlee Garage" 'Bernie Rage' is our recent and highly worthy addition to the Eau Rouge trackday fleet. having more than proved its worth at Spa Francochamps & The Nordschliefe in June 2008. It was on the Autobahn approaching Koblenz we realised the speed limiter was still in place when our still rapid acceleration hit a wall at a GPS indicated 116mph (135mph on the speedo).
'Bernie Rage' is a Toyota MR2 Turbo which has seen a number of modifications since arriving in the UK. These include; HKS adjustable suspension, a full roll cage, chipped ECU, 3" straight through yoshimura exhaust system, uprated brakes and slick tyres (on a dry trackday).
** October 08 Update ** Bernie Rage has now had a thorough overhaul by Rogue Motorsports who have fully polybushed our MR2, fitted a Tein Strut Brace, fitted new wheel bearings, brake discs & EBC Yellostuff pads, and then all four wheels balanced and laser aligned. All the little aging foibles have been fixed or replaced and now Bernie is one serious proper handling track car!
A genuinely fast and fun car that is truly superb around the 'ring. Great fun to drift out of the corners. Just be aware of the legendary lift off oversteer if you over cook it on the way in!
